The following tips and suggestions will help Team Members and Project Leads take advantage of offline functionality and workflows to make the most of their Codifi App while working in the field.
Open your project in Codifi ahead of time. Opening your app before heading out on the field will allow your device to download any updated project data to ensure you have the most accurate data on your device while at work.
Disable mobile data or wifi when in spotty reception. Turning your mobile data off when in unstable internet or mobile reception will prevent auto uploading to the server, which can slow down your device and drain your battery.
Check for updates. Check that your Codifi app is running on the latest version. Do this ahead of time while you are in good service to prevent any bugs or glitches from using an older app version.
Anticipate syncing opportunities. Identify the best time of day to sync your mobile device to the cloud storage. If you have better reception or downtime during your day, prioritize opening the app, connecting to the internet or mobile service, and letting the app auto-sync.
Have an accompanying GPS device on hand. You may use this as a precaution to ensure you can manually input GPS coordinates if the app's map integration encounters any issues. This adds an extra layer of reliability to your fieldwork.
Encourage open communication and set up a feedback loop. We value your feedback and want to hear about all your wins and frustrations! Have your team provide regular check-ins and feedback on the software's usability and effectiveness. Appoint a dedicated member to relay this information to the Codifi team, as this is integral to the app’s continuous improvement.
